About Temple Sinai High Holidays Fund Drive 2026
Over 1.5 million people in the DMV don’t know where their next meal is coming from.
In 2025, 36% of our neighbors experienced food insecurity, virtually unchanged from the year prior.
With federal funding cuts and job loss, CAFB is expecting a large increase in food insecure individuals in our region. In response, CAFB is projecting to distribute at least 70 million meals, compared to 61 million is 2025.
With rising inflation rates, neighbors are struggling to make ends meet. The cumulative inflation rate sits at 21% while wage growth in the area is only at 6.3%. Prices for goods are rising quicker than our community can keep up with.
